Why gears dose viscous fluids well
With medium and high viscosity fluids internal slip is minimal, so flow depends on speed alone. Gears are machined from solid alloy steel, hardened and ground to remove internal play, and the ZV runs at low speeds that reduce wear and heating of the fluid. Set the flow with an inverter and it stays there.
For very thin fluids such as water or light solvents gear dosing is less suitable, because the fluid lubricates poorly and slips more: in those cases we assess it with you.
Born on Formula 1 test benches
The ZV comes from more than fifteen years in motorsport, feeding engine test benches in Formula 1. Today it doses polyol and isocyanate on foam lines, concrete admixtures at batching plants, foam concentrate on proportioning skids, bitumen additives, fuel additives, catalysts and inks.
Ten models, one footprint philosophy
From 1.05 to 70.7 cm³/rev, flows from 0.47 to 102 l/min. Threaded ports, mounted straight onto the motor with lantern and coupling, no baseplate: easy to fit on skids and OEM machines.
Frequently asked questions
What is the smallest flow?
The 1 ZV moves 0.47 l/min at 450 rpm; slower speeds with an inverter give even smaller flows.
Can two ZV pumps keep a fixed ratio?
Yes. Two-component systems use one ZV per component, synchronised mechanically or electronically.
